When we consider what Manual Handling is, we might think of specific tasks or any activity that we complete where we move and lift heavy items, however manual handling regulations and guidance do not provide regulations on weight limits. It is important not to just limit thoughts to items that we consider to be heavy, this training covers the importance of considering your actions and exposure completing work-based tasks when you will be involved in moving items.
We all have different tolerances and a lift of a box of paper can pose as much risk as lifting a heavier item; reduce risk with basic training that creates a knowledge and confidence of how to approach manual handling tasks.
